The transport media is a glycerin- and HEPES-based media, used to to extend the life of the sperm during shipping. This allows us to analyze and freeze your sperm after overnight transport. The transport media is washed off when the sample arrives at the lab, and will not negatively affect the health of your sperm in any way.

This type of media has been successfully used for decades. It was pioneered by one of our advisors, Dr. Gail Prins, who published studies on the use of buffer media as a protectant for human spermatozoa as early as the 1980s.
